Anne Hathaway is done staying quiet about the facelift chatter.
The Idea of You star sat down with Elle to address the plastic surgery rumors that have been circulating in recent months. According to E! Online, Hathaway revealed she hasn't undergone any invasive cosmetic procedures.
"These are huge medical decisions that people are presuming," Anne told Elle. "I wanted to show that like, no, I didn't make a huge medical decision."
The secret to her sculpted look is strategic braids. "I use just two braids pulled taut under my hair to create the optical illusion of a sculpted visage," she explained.
Hathaway isn't ruling out future procedures, though. "And by the way, the other thing about all this is, I might still get a facelift someday," she added.
The 43-year-old mother of two felt compelled to speak up because, as she put it, "the conversation was becoming distracting."
Still, Hathaway would have preferred to stay silent. "My preference would be to never comment on anything and to just live in the mystery," she said. "But the speculation has gotten so loud that you do feel the need to just get your truth out there."
The Devil Wears Prada 2 star is now second-guessing her decision. "I'll probably always wonder, 'Should I have posted that or not?'" she mused.
Hathaway's main objection is to people stating assumptions as fact. "We're at a time when people feel very confident in assuming what they think is fact, and sometimes what they think is accurate and sometimes it's not," she said.
