Danny Perkins' Elysian Film Group Distribution has entered formal insolvency, sources confirm.
The distribution arm, which launched in 2020 with CAA backing, is being liquidated. FRP Advisory, a financial advisory firm, is managing the process.
Perkins' production company, Elysian Film Group, continues to operate and is not part of the insolvency.
The shutdown affects what appeared to be an ambitious venture when it began six years ago. A well-funded distribution operation backed by one of Hollywood's most powerful agencies entered an increasingly fractured film marketplace.
It remains unclear how the shutdown affects ongoing deals or slate commitments. Insiders will watch whether Perkins can rebuild the distribution side or shift focus to production.
The collapse comes as indie distributors face mounting pressure from streaming consolidation and weak theatrical performance across the UK and beyond.
