Ponies has been canceled after one season at Peacock. The 1970s espionage comedy-drama starring Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson will not continue, and co-creator David Iserson shared a farewell on Instagram.

In his post, Iserson called the show "not like anything else on television." He and co-creator Susanna Fogel spent seven years developing the project before it reached the streamer.

"Goodbye to Bea and Twila for now," Iserson wrote, referencing Clarke's character Bea and Richardson's character Twila. "I hope we all get to visit them again," he added.

The cancellation adds Ponies to a growing list of streaming originals that did not survive their first season. For Clarke, the cancellation follows other post-Game of Thrones projects that struggled to gain traction. Richardson had positioned Ponies as a potential entry into prestige television.

Iserson's remark that the show was "not like anything else on television" underscores the challenge of unconventional storytelling on streaming platforms. The show reportedly struggled to find an audience within Peacock's slate.
