Gaming's greatest treasure hunter is getting a major overhaul. Alix Wilton Regan has stepped into the role of Lara Croft for the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and she's discussing what fans can expect from the reimagined action-adventure.

Speaking at Summer Game Fest 2026, Wilton Regan described the character's new direction. "We are very much back and bigger, bolder than ever," she said, noting that this version of Lara is fiercer and more complex than before.

The new game places players in a dinosaur-filled world where Lara battles prehistoric beasts, panthers, and human enemies while uncovering the secrets of a lost civilization.

The character design has been completely reimagined. Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Game Studios moved away from previous versions to create something fresh yet recognizably Lara Croft.

Performance capture technology has advanced significantly since the original 1996 game. Wilton Regan's work brings realism to Lara's movements, expressions, and combat sequences.

First announced at The Game Awards 2025, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a major release for the franchise. Longtime fans and newcomers will find an adventure that promises the action the series is known for.

The gaming community is anticipating the reboot's summer release.
