Ariana Grande has released "Knew Better Part Two" to mark the 10th anniversary of Dangerous Woman. The unreleased track is a continuation of the album's penultimate song, originally posted to SoundCloud in 2016.
The song finds Grande reflecting on an old flame over Dangerous Woman's signature trap-pop production, with a bouncier feel than the original. The track had been locked away in the vault until now.
The release comes as Grande prepares new material. According to Rolling Stone, her eighth studio album Petal arrives July 31 through BabyDoll/Republic Records. The lead single "Hate That I Made You Love Me" drops May 29, with producer Max Martin involved in the project.
Grande described Petal as "a little bit feral"—a record about severing ties with negativity, both internal and external. The album was co-written and produced with collaborator Ilya, and follows her Oscar-nominated role as Glinda in the Wicked films.
"It was a writing experiment for me to use that as a template so that I could be talking about one thing and sharing something, and people could use it however they want and apply it to their own lives," Grande said of the project's approach.
Petal arrives in July.
