According to Deadline, Asa Butterfield is set to play Brian Epstein, The Beatles' manager, in the upcoming series Hamburg Days. Butterfield recently starred in Sex Education.

Jonny Lee Miller, known for Trainspotting, will play Jim McCartney, Paul's father. Christine Tremarco (Adolescence) rounds out the trio as Aunt Mimi, who raised John Lennon.

The series follows the band's early years in Hamburg and Liverpool before their international breakthrough. For Butterfield, the role represents a departure from his Sex Education work—a shift from a contemporary setting to a period drama centered on a historical figure who shaped one of rock's most influential bands.

Butterfield's previous roles have demonstrated range across vulnerable and commanding characters, positioning him as a choice for the complex, ambitious Epstein. Miller's dramatic work and Tremarco's experience suggest the production is treating supporting characters with substance rather than as peripheral roles.

No official premiere date has been announced. The Beatles era has been explored in drama before, but this production aims for an intimate approach grounded in performances that honor real historical figures.
