Ben Stiller isn't just courtside anymore—he's making it official. The filmmaker and Knicks superfan has confirmed he's producing a documentary about New York's basketball team with HBO and A24, and the project is already underway, Rolling Stone reports.

"Couldn't be more excited to make this doc with A24 and HBO about the NY KNICKS," Stiller announced on social media, complete with the #LETSGOKNICKS hashtag. The timing comes right after the team's championship victory.

Like Spike Lee and other celebrity fixtures at Madison Square Garden, Stiller attended the Knicks' NBA Finals run, capturing behind-the-scenes moments on his iPhone. Those clips could become the foundation of a major prestige project.

Speaking on the Roommates Show podcast with Knicks players Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, Stiller revealed the documentary will chronicle the franchise's full arc—from the legendary '70s championship eras through the '90s playoff runs and into this generation's 2026 revival. It won't focus solely on the recent championship.

"There's so many great eras," Stiller explained. "When you look at the Seventies championships, the Nineties runs and then this team doing it again, I think there's just so much within that."

The director started developing the project before the playoff run began. Stiller expects production to stretch well into next season, giving fans an insider's perspective rarely seen before.

"If you're lucky enough to have that access and have that point of view, I feel like it's great to be able to share that," Stiller told The New York Times. The project reflects the commitment of a true believer.
