Bonnie Tyler is awake following emergency intestinal surgery.

The "Total Eclipse of the Heart" singer has emerged from a coma and remains hospitalized in intensive care at a Portuguese hospital. According to Rolling Stone, her family released a statement Monday confirming Tyler is "no longer in a coma" but "remains very unwell."

The 72-year-old will require a lengthy recovery period. Her doctors say they are "confident that she will make a good recovery."

All shows through August have been canceled or postponed to 2027 "where possible."

Tyler's family expressed hope she could return to performing in the fall. They noted her condition is "improving" but said it remains "a slow process."

Tyler has been a fixture of live rock performance for decades, known for her distinctive voice and theatrical stage presence.
