Bryan Cranston is promising that Madonna's appearance in The Studio Season 2 will leave audiences stunned. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor teased a scene he filmed with the pop icon that he described as wild.
"In this next season of the studio, I do something in front of Madonna," Cranston revealed. "In a truth or dare test, and it's a dare. And I do something that will either raise my street cred very high or destroy my career. It's one of the two."
The Breaking Bad actor said viewers will gasp. "I guarantee you, you will utter to yourselves, 'Oh my God!'" he said, mimicking a shocked expression. "You will be watching this like this. And you will not believe it."
Cranston praised working with the Material Girl. The two shot the scene in Venice, Italy, over multiple nights that stretched until 3, 4, or 5 in the morning. Madonna, he said, never lost focus.
"She is an extraordinary person. She's one of the most famous people in all the world," Cranston said. "She works very hard. Her work ethic is incredible. And she was funny and she contributed and she was a good sport."
Cranston plays Griffin Mill, the eccentric CEO of Continental Studios. The Studio stars Seth Rogen as studio head Matt Remick alongside Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn. Season 1 included celebrity appearances from Martin Scorsese, Olivia Wilde, and Zoë Kravitz.
The show restructured Season 2 after the death of Catherine O'Hara, who won an Emmy for her Season 1 role as producer Patty Leigh and passed away in January. Creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg said they had to rebuild the season after her death.
