BTS will perform at the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25, CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced Wednesday. The seven-member group has earned three nominations: Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best Male K-Pop Artist.

The appearance marks a return to the AMAs stage. BTS made their U.S. television performance debut at the 2017 AMAs and performed again in 2021, when they won Artist of the Year. This will be their first performance since all seven members completed mandatory military service in South Korea.

Last month, BTS launched their Arirang world tour in support of their sixth studio album, their first LP in nearly four years. The album sold 641,000 total copies in its first week—the biggest debut by any group since Billboard started tracking streaming in 2014. Pure album sales hit 532,000.

The lead single "Swim" topped the Billboard Hot 100 and remained atop the Billboard Global 200 for four weeks. BTS has won 11 AMAs to date.

BTS is also set to co-headline the halftime show at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in July with Shakira and Madonna.

The 2026 AMAs will take place May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas, with Queen Latifah hosting for the first time in 30 years. The ceremony airs live at 8 p.m. E.T. on Paramount+ and CBS. Taylor Swift leads with eight nominations.
