While Spotify and YouTube are flooding their platforms with AI-generated remixes, Deezer is taking a different approach. The streaming giant just launched Remix Lab, a new feature that lets fans remix songs with artist consent and real money flowing to creators.

Artists like Céline Dion, Alain Souchon, Alonzo, Ronisia, Mosimann, Tiakola, and Zaho get paid for every single stream of these fan remixes. No AI-generated knockoffs are involved.

Deezer offers in-app tools where fans can tweak tempo, layer on reverb, or completely transform a track's genre and style. CEO Alexis Lanternier said: "These features are made possible with full participation of the artists, fully respecting rights, and maximizing earnings for each track."

TechCrunch reports that Deezer has been fighting the AI takeover of streaming. The platform recently launched a tool to detect AI-generated tracks on Spotify and Apple Music, and it removes AI music from its own recommendations and playlists.

The Remix Lab rolled out first in France, with international expansion plans to follow. Fans can also enter Deezer Club contests for a shot at winning with their remixes.

In an industry increasingly focused on AI shortcuts, Deezer's approach prioritizes human creativity and proper artist compensation.
