D'Arcy Carden has found her new best friend on set: Jennifer Garner. The actress spoke at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards about working with Garner on their upcoming Peacock series The Five-Star Weekend. She's enthusiastic about the experience.
"As good as you think she is, she's actually better," Carden said in an exclusive interview with E! News. "She's real. She's who she is. What you see is what you get."
Carden revealed that she was coming home from set and talking about Garner to her husband. "I would come home from working, and I'd sit on the bed talking to my husband and be like, 'I'm in love with Jen Garner,'" she said.
The two are starring alongside Chloë Sevigny, Regina Hall, and Gemma Chan in the series, based on Elin Hilderbrand's 2023 novel. Garner plays a food blogger hosting her friends for a weekend getaway in Nantucket following her husband's tragic death.
Carden called the entire experience "beautiful" and praised the whole cast as "really, really wonderful people."
Carden is equally nostalgic about her days on The Good Place, and said she would jump at any opportunity to reunite with that crew. When asked if a revival is in the cards, she hesitated. "On one hand, I'm like, 'Yes, I would do anything.' But there's also a part of me that's letting this thing be."
For now, Carden is planning a quiet summer at home. "We renovated our house, which took a really long time," she shared. "So, I'm not gonna leave my house—in a good way. I'm just gonna nest the hell out of my house, and invite people over and make dinner."
Catch Carden and the rest of the attendees at the sixth annual Las Culturistas Culture Awards on Bravo and Peacock on June 17.
