Dave Grohl just made every music fan's dream a reality: the Foo Fighters performed at NPR's Tiny Desk, and yes, all six members actually fit.
The rock legends pulled off what seemed impossible—cramming into the notoriously cramped office space for a five-song set that included hits and their track "Spit Shine" from the album Your Favorite Toy. Opening with "Spit Shine," Grohl leaned into the microphone with his signature intensity, saying, "You know I don't really give a damn," before the band backed him with lush harmonies.
The intimate setting energized rather than constrained the legendary stadium rockers. When they wrapped up, Grohl cracked a joke about the microphone being "the hardest instrument of all to play."
Before launching into "Learn to Fly," Grohl reflected on what this moment meant to him. "It's an honor to be here," he told the office. "I've watched so many of these Tiny Desk shows and have a bunch of favorites."
Grohl revealed that seeing Trouble Funk squeeze into the tiny space during their own Tiny Desk appearance inspired him to finally make the Foo Fighters version happen. "When I saw Trouble Funk squeeze into this tiny little office space here, I was like, 'It's not that tiny,'" he quipped with a laugh.
The performance is now making waves online, with fans marveling at how the band delivered such a polished, energetic set in such confined quarters. For a group used to dominating massive festival stages, this moment was different.
