Dean McDermott is marking three years of sobriety. The actor celebrated the milestone on June 26, posting on Instagram with a message of gratitude to his family, friends, fellowship, sponsor, and 12-step program.
"WOW we wee WOW!! 3 years!!" the 59-year-old wrote. "Couldn't have done it without my Family, Friends, Fellowship, Sponsor and a 12 step program!!"
He also shared a video message for others struggling with addiction. "It can be done," he said, adding that "hell has an exit." He told followers: "It starts by reaching out your hand and asking for help. And I know in your darkest days that seems like Mount Everest to do that, but reach out, reach out your hand, ask for help, it's OK."
McDermott discussed the personal repairs he is making. "I have a beautiful relationship with my kids. All the damage that I caused in my past, I'm starting to repair, and you can do that too," he said. He has five children with ex Tori Spelling—Liam, 19; Stella, 18; Hattie, 14; Finn, 13; and Beau, 9—plus Jack, 25, from his first marriage.
The couple split in June 2023 after nearly two decades together. McDermott has been dating Lily Calo since October 2023.
His eldest son, Jack, commented on the post with "Congratulations dad!"
