Derek Hough isn't afraid to get messy. The Dancing With the Stars judge is fully leaning into fatherhood with wife Hayley Erbert, and he's got the blowout stories to prove it.

During an exclusive chat with E! News, the 41-year-old revealed that baby Everley's first flight to New York for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of his and Erbert's Symphony of Dance documentary came with an unexpected souvenir.

"She was great until we landed," Hough laughed, "and then I had a nice surprise on my chest." Translation? A blowout of epic proportions. But he couldn't have been happier about it.

"It's one of those things, whatever you focus on is what you feel," the four-time Emmy winner explained. "I was like, 'You know what, I'm lucky that I get to have this on my chest right now.'"

Hough is captivated by his daughter's daily development. "She's giggling, she's smiling, grabbing her toes, she's in happy baby position," he said ahead of celebrating his first Father's Day on June 21. "Every day is something different, something new. It's been incredible."

The joy carries extra weight given Erbert's health journey. The 31-year-old suffered a burst blood vessel and cranial hematoma during a December 2023 tour performance, requiring emergency brain surgery. Now, five months into motherhood, she's thriving. "I feel really strong, really healthy," Erbert told E! News.

For Hough, becoming a dad at 40 feels like starting a new chapter. "I've had such a full and rich life, and now I get to do this whole life thing but in a totally different way—and it has a lot more meaning and fulfillment," he said.

That is what you call a glow-up.
