Discord unveiled Nitro Rewards on Monday, giving subscribers access to a stacked lineup of gaming and lifestyle perks at no additional cost, according to TechCrunch.
Nitro Basic ($2.99 per month) and Nitro ($9.99 per month) subscribers now get free access to Xbox Game Pass's base tier, which includes 50+ PC and Xbox games like Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, and Day Z. The subscription also includes 10 hours of cloud gaming, allowing users to stream games to most devices.
Discord is also rolling out exclusive discounts between 15% and 30% on rotating selections of gaming hardware from Logitech G, SteelSeries, and KontrolFreak. The company plans to expand partnerships and add more perks over time.
Discord co-founder and CTO Stanislav Vishnevskiy told TechCrunch the move rewards loyal subscribers while supporting retention. "Nitro is the biggest contributor to Discord revenue, and it's been growing healthily year on year," he said. "This is about doubling down on that and providing you more value again."
Discord's core features remain free. The company monetizes through subscriptions like Nitro, and Nitro Rewards is designed to increase perceived value and subscriber retention.
For gamers already using Discord, the upgrade adds tangible benefits. For potential users, it could be a deciding factor to join the platform.
