Singapore's The Violinist has won the top Cristal Award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. It is the first Singaporean feature to compete at Annecy in 15 years.

Ervin Han directed the film. Raul Garcia, who worked on Disney's Aladdin and Fantasia 2000, served as a key creative collaborator. The jury awarded it the festival's highest honour.

The win reflects growing strength in Southeast Asian animation production. According to Deadline, Iron Boy, which was acquired by SPC, also took home a major prize at the festival.

The Violinist is expected to continue circulating through major festivals and awards conversations in coming months.
