Divyenndu is excited about Mirzapur: The Movie.
The actor, who reprises his fan-favourite role as Munna Bhaiya, spoke after the makers dropped the teaser. "The Scale, the characters, the actions, the dialogues— it's a riot! Truly!" he said. "Had the most amazing fun while shooting all this, and can surely tell it's pure masala to watch."
The big-screen adaptation marks a shift for the Mirzapur franchise—moving from OTT to cinema. The makers promise an untold chapter from the Purvanchal universe while keeping the gritty storytelling and high-stakes drama that made the web series popular.
The ensemble includes Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, and other cast members from the series. Fresh additions include Sonal S Chauhan.
Directed by Gurmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment's banner, with backing from Amazon MGM Studios.
Mirzapur: The Movie releases in both Hindi and Telugu on September 4, 2026.
