Edoardo Ponti has wrapped production on The Wedding Dress, a WWII romance filmed in Bucharest. The Golden Globe-nominated filmmaker's latest project stars Ukrainian actor Ivanna Sakhno, who recently appeared in Lucasfilm's Ahsoka.
The cast includes Lucas Englander (Transatlantic), Billie Boullet (A Small Light, Man on Fire), Anika Boyle from Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Veronica Ferres (The Unholy Trinity), and Sasha Alexander from Rizzoli & Isles.
According to Deadline Hollywood, filming wrapped this week on location in Romania.
Ponti earned a Golden Globe nomination for previous work and is known for complex character studies with visual scope. His casting mixes established names with emerging talent. The Wedding Dress pairs what is typically called awards-season architecture with a range of career stages.
No release date has been announced. The film is expected to enter the festival circuit.
