Jalen Brunson isn't slowing down. The newly crowned NBA champion—fresh off leading the New York Knicks to victory in the 2026 NBA Finals—has moved straight from championship celebrations into children's literature.
The 29-year-old point guard has announced his literary debut: Jalen Plays It All, a 40-page picture book hitting shelves in August 2027. It has already claimed the Number One spot on Amazon's "Children's New Experiences Books" category, with pre-orders available now for $19.99.
Illustrated by Portland-based artist Neely Daggett (who also illustrated Baby Ballers: Michael Jordan), the book traces Brunson's athletic childhood—swimming, football, baseball, tennis—all the sports that taught him discipline, confidence, and teamwork before basketball became his primary focus. The intended audience is children ages four to eight.
"This children's book is a story about discovering that success doesn't happen overnight," Brunson explained. Real success is built on grit, setbacks, and hard work—not instant glory.
On Instagram, the Knicks star expanded: "While basketball was always at the center of my journey, every sport I played helped build the habits, character, and work ethic that made me who I am." The post has resonated with fans.
The move reflects Brunson's broader expansion into endorsements and brand partnerships following his championship win. He is now literally writing the narrative of his own success story for the next generation.
Audiobook listeners can access the audio version through a free Audible trial. Amazon also stocks Knicks merchandise including jerseys, Funko Pops, and votive candles.
The King of New York is now the King of Bedtime Stories.
