Kristofer Hivju, who played wildling warrior Tormund Giantsbane on Game of Thrones, is joining the cast of Where The Sun Always Shines as SkyShowtime renews the Swedish drama for season two.
The streaming service, owned by Comcast and Paramount, said season one was a breakout hit across Europe. The renewal brings fresh faces and expanded storytelling for the next season.
Johan Glans and Celie Sparre are also joining the cast. SkyShowtime is investing significant resources in the series.
For the Norwegian actor, this is another major television role following his run on HBO's Game of Thrones. The move positions him in one of Europe's streaming properties.
With season two greenlit and new additions to the cast, Where The Sun Always Shines is SkyShowtime's next major bet. Hivju's move from HBO fantasy to Swedish drama marks a notable shift in his recent television work.
