Drama unfolded in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday as the woman accused of stalking and battering Lindsey Buckingham pleaded not guilty to seven criminal charges. According to Rolling Stone, Michelle Dick, 55, appeared in court wearing a blue-and-yellow jail uniform and waist shackle after being arrested in Indiana in April.
The Fleetwood Mac guitarist is accused of being stalked and battered. On March 25, Dick allegedly tracked down the 76-year-old musician in Santa Monica and hurled an unidentified substance at him, despite a restraining order keeping her 100 yards away. Buckingham was not injured.
Dick faces accusations of a years-long harassment campaign dating back to October 2021, plus assault with a deadly weapon (allegedly using a motor vehicle on March 19), vandalism of Buckingham's Mercedes-Benz S450, and criminal threats. She is also separately charged with making a criminal threat against him on December 20, 2024.
During Tuesday's hearing, Dick barely uttered a word. When Judge Lucy Armendariz asked if she agreed to delay the case until June 23, she started to say something—"Yes, but I wanted to..."—before trailing off as her public defender whispered urgently in her ear. She then agreed to the postponement and was led out of court, still in custody.
The amended complaint alleges Dick "repeatedly followed and harassed" Buckingham between 2021 and March 2026. In November 2024, Buckingham sought a restraining order against her, linking her to a "swatting" incident.
The restraining order came a month before the December 2024 criminal threat charge. The case continues June 23.
