Marvel Entertainment has launched a 24/7 livestream event on the Marvel HQ YouTube channel, broadcasting full episodes of Spider-Man and Avengers content throughout the Halloween period.

The livestream format differs from traditional limited-time events. Rather than disappearing after October 31st, continuous programming means viewers discovering the channel at any hour could encounter an Avengers episode they have not seen before, creating ongoing engagement opportunities.

YouTube's livestream feature functions as a "lean-back" viewing experience akin to traditional television. Viewers watch passively rather than choosing episodes individually. For Marvel, this format drives sustained engagement, audiences that might otherwise spend time on other platforms instead remain on the channel for extended sessions, producing metrics valuable to advertisers and streaming algorithms.

The Halloween framing uses existing material. Spider-Man and Avengers content features action, spectacle, and villain moments that fit October viewing without requiring new production. Marvel repackages existing episodes as a seasonal event, reducing production costs while offering fans curated programming.

This move may test whether viewers treat YouTube livestreams as a primary source for back-catalog episodes, especially as Disney+ focuses on new Marvel releases. If the Halloween experiment draws significant viewership, Marvel could extend the model to other holidays, Christmas Avengers marathons, summer superhero blocks, and similar events. The strategy creates recurring reasons to visit the Marvel HQ channel rather than going directly to Disney+.

International audiences may respond strongly to this approach. Spider-Man's global fanbase prioritizes content access over holiday-specific themes, and streaming flexibility appeals more than traditional scheduling in markets where Marvel viewership skews younger.
