Max Martin has sold a stake in his songwriting collective to investment firm HarbourView Equity Partners in a deal valued in the low nine figures. The partnership includes compositions tied to Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, the Weeknd, and other major artists.

HarbourView has acquired a stake in Wolf Cousins, the songwriting collective Martin and Shellback founded. The collective brings together creators across genres and generations.

While exact terms remain undisclosed, Rolling Stone reports that sources pegged the acquisition in the nine-figure range.

Sherrese Clarke, HarbourView's founder and CEO, said: "Max Martin and Shellback continue to hold their place as hitmakers in contemporary music, and through Wolf Cousins they have built an extraordinary creative ecosystem."

Martin and Shellback said in a statement that Wolf Cousins was built on "collaboration, mentorship, and creative development." They chose HarbourView, they said, because the firm respects creators and takes a long-term approach.

Wolf Cousins includes Tove Lo, Ali Payami, Robin Fredriksson, and Mattias Larsson, among others.

The sale does not affect the existing music. It reflects the broader pattern of investment firms acquiring stakes in music rights and creative partnerships.
