Noah Kahan is addressing the elephant—or rather, the poop—in the room.

After fans on social media speculated that a concertgoer at Kahan's Philadelphia show on June 26 had defecated on the floor, the 29-year-old singer addressed the situation with humor and candor.

"If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao," Kahan wrote in a June 27 post on X. "I've pooped my pants as much as the next 29 year old but you guys gotta understand there's a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that."

Kahan followed up with another joke: "I s--t myself onstage in Charlottesville but that's because I am dedicated to my craft."

His response sparked discussion among fans. Reddit users vented about pit etiquette. "No song is worth pooping on the ground for," one fan wrote. Another said, "this is why I don't f--k with the pit," describing the experience of standing in other people's bodily fluids for hours just to get floor seats.

Kahan is not the only performer dealing with concert bathroom issues. Olivia Rodrigo recently revealed on KISS radio that she's encountered fans wearing diapers to stay front row. "I have been to certain concerts and certain festivals where people wear diapers so that they can be front row of the show. That's been an experience of a performer that I have smelled and experienced," Rodrigo said. "It's a real thing."

Live music has an unglamorous side.
