Nushrratt Bharuccha shut down one of the internet's wildest IPL-era conspiracies with a single, adorable explanation: it was the puppy.

The actress found herself at the centre of a bizarre social media controversy after sharing a clip from Royal Challengers Bengaluru's historic IPL trophy lift. While the video was meant to celebrate the team's win, some netizens claimed to hear suggestive sounds in the background—with wild allegations of moaning and slapping noises flying around. The clip went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Nushrratt took to Instagram Stories and posted photographic and video evidence from her friend's house where she'd been watching the match, complete with footage of the actual culprit: a young puppy whose cries had been captured in the original clip.

"Kuch logon ne hadh hi kar di hai. Ek puppy ke rone ki awaaz se itna bawaal mach gaya hai," she wrote, calling out the rumour mill for taking things too far. She also revealed she'd been advised to delete the video immediately—which she did—fearing exactly this kind of misinterpretation.

In her follow-up posts, Nushrratt did not mince words about the harassment. "People, calm your wild thoughts down! Owning a mobile phone doesn't empower harrassment. Do not misinterpret or follow blindly. Think and act responsibly," she pleaded, also addressing a fake clarification that had been circulating in her name.

The actress's response showed how quickly social media can spiral into absurdity—and how a simple explanation with receipts can bring it back to earth. Fans applauded her for handling the situation with humour and grace.

A crying puppy had derailed the internet's wildest theories.
