The underdog is unstoppable. According to Bollywood Hungama, Obsession collected Rs. 3.50 crores on June 12 alone — more than its second Friday haul of Rs. 3.30 crores.

Obsession's 15-day collection of Rs. 53.33 crores has outpaced new releases including Haunted – Echoes Of The Past (Rs. 2.72 crores), Main Vaapas Aaunga, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Governor, Disclosure Day and Backrooms.

Mumbai's Regal cinema, a single-screen theater, has replaced all four shows of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata and Main Vaapas Aaunga with Obsession screenings starting Saturday, June 14.

Obsession has expanded into mass-market theaters including Mukta A2 Sun City, New Excelsior, and Gold Santacruz — venues traditionally reserved for major Hindi releases and family entertainment.

One trade expert said: "These are not cinemas where niche Hollywood films are released. But Obsession is no longer niche. The word has spread and people want to check it out, including a section of the masses."

Regal is offering tickets at Rs. 150-250. Sun City's morning shows start at Rs. 130. Gold Santacruz charges Rs. 150.

Week 1 collections reached Rs. 18.55 crores and Week 2 collected Rs. 31.28 crores, bringing the total past Rs. 50 crores. Trade experts believe a Rs. 100 crore finish is possible if momentum holds.
