Friday's Buckingham Palace garden party belonged to the Prince and Princess of Wales. William and Kate hosted their event after King Charles held his own garden party earlier in the week, with both demonstrating the royal family's command of ceremonial occasions.
Kate wore a cream Self Portrait dress with a vintage hat and earrings that once belonged to the late Queen, along with a personal bracelet. William wore a dark suit and moved through the room with ease.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and royal cousin Zara Tindall attended, joining William and Kate for the afternoon.
The guest list included those connected to William and Kate's patronages, military affiliations, and personal projects. Among the invitees were Rhian Mannings, founder of 2wish — a charity supporting bereaved families — and Sam Stables, who runs We Are Farming Minds, tackling mental health stigma in farming communities.
William greeted Rhian Mannings warmly during the event. Mannings' account of loss had moved the Prince to tears at Windsor Castle on a previous occasion.
This was the second Buckingham Palace garden party led by William and Kate. Both events have centred on recognising individuals working in their communities.
