Prince William revealed his passion for motorcycles during a visit to Norfolk Blood Bikes on June 11. "I love bikes," he said, adding, "I do still ride now and again, quietly. Disguise."
The Prince of Wales has acknowledged slipping out for motorcycle rides while disguised.
Kate Middleton has made her disapproval clear. During a 2015 Scotland visit, the Princess of Wales said of his riding, "It always fills me with horror when he goes out on it," according to E! Online. "I'm terrified. Hopefully I'm going to keep George off of it."
By 2018, William acknowledged the constraints of fatherhood. "I'm a dad of three. I have to tone it down," he said. "I miss the big trips. For me, biking was always about being with everybody else."
The pull of motorcycles remains strong. In 2024, while visiting Ulster University's Belfast City Campus, he tried a virtual reality motorbike and exclaimed, "Any excuse to get on a motorbike!"
These days, William directs his energy toward family pursuits—crafting friendship bracelets after the Taylor Swift Eras Tour and supporting Charlotte's interest in dancing and performing.
