Ram Charan has called his latest film Peddi "the most difficult character of his career." In statements to the press, the Telugu superstar revealed that playing a character who cycles through three distinct sporting personas — a cricketer, a runner, and a wrestler — has been transformative.

"I am very fortunate to be playing the character. We are representing a section of people who are unheard, who need the voice and need the recognition," Ram said. He emphasized that the role is "very necessary in a country like India."

Ram described the entire project as enriching, both professionally and personally. The trailer showcased his physical transformation across the three athlete avatars, with visible shifts in his build and movement for each sport.

The film's musical celebration took place in Bhopal on May 23, where the cast — Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Shiva Rajkumar — joined music composer A.R. Rahman for the event. Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. The film releases worldwide June 3–4, 2026.
