Robert Downey Jr. is throwing some serious love Jon Favreau's way. The actor recently caught a screening of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and shared his response on social media, calling the film a "wild ride."

Downey Jr. brought Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D'Esposito along for the screening. The two helped build the MCU together and are now watching Favreau work in a galaxy far, far away.

The praise carries weight given the long history between Downey Jr. and Favreau. They worked together on Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010)—the films that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe. D'Esposito co-produced both films alongside Favreau, so this screening was a Marvel reunion with a Star Wars spin.

Favreau created the original Disney+ series The Mandalorian and has now brought the story to the big screen with The Mandalorian and Grogu. The film follows bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu on their most dangerous mission yet. It is the first Star Wars theatrical release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019 and was shot for IMAX.

The ensemble includes Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White (as Rotta the Hutt), with a score by Ludwig Göransson. Favreau has delivered a blockbuster entertainment piece.

According to Bollywood Hungama, The Mandalorian and Grogu is now running in theatres in both English and Hindi. When Downey Jr. is this excited, the film is worth seeing.
