Ryan Lochte is engaged to Molly Gillihan after one year of dating. The Olympic gold medalist confirmed to TMZ on June 19 that he proposed at the same Florida restaurant where they had their first date, in Gainesville. "I'm on cloud nine she said yes," Lochte told the outlet. "I'm happy this is my new beginning, and I couldn't do it without her."

Lochte and Gillihan went public with their relationship in July 2025. By January, they were living together with their blended family: Lochte's three children—Caiden (8), Liv (6), and Georgia (2)—from his ex-wife Kayla Reid, plus Gillihan's three children from a previous relationship.

The swimmer told People about the move at the time, saying that Gillihan had become his rock. "I fell in love with someone who shares those same values and who has three children of her own," he said. "She's my best friend, our kids have formed an incredible bond."

In May, Lochte posted a birthday tribute to Gillihan on Instagram. "When you came into my life, I was lost, broken, and honestly unsure of who I was anymore," he wrote. "Then you walked in and loved me for the real me not the swimmer, not the spotlight, not any of the outside noise… just me. I truly don't know where I'd be without you. Some people search their whole lives for a love like this… and I'll never take ours for granted."

According to E! Online, Lochte and Gillihan have relocated to Missouri, where Lochte works as an assistant coach for Missouri State University's swim teams. This is Lochte's second marriage. His first to Reid lasted from 2018 until 2025, when she filed for divorce.
