Before the Knicks take the court for Game 5, their wives are locked in—and we're obsessed with how they're doing it.
Shannon Hart, married to shooting guard Josh Hart, is doubling down on her superstitions for the potential championship run. The 31-year-old registered nurse told E! News she wears a cross necklace she never leaves home without, says a pre-game prayer during the national anthem, and keeps Reese's Oreo cups as her lucky snack.
"Growing up, I've always loved peanut butter and Oreos, separately," Shannon explained. "And so, putting them together is like my dream." After the Game 4 comeback on June 10, she brought back the same purse that was there for the win.
Ali Brunson, wife of Knicks captain Jalen Brunson, relies on her wedding jewelry. "I've just been wearing the same jewelry, so my wedding jewelry every game, that's been keeping me sane," the 30-year-old physical therapist said.
Ali credits her husband for keeping her steady. "My husband is so levelheaded, like, nothing phases him," she said. "So, I feel like I've fed off of that over the last few years." Her approach is to control what you can control, play by play, game by game.
Shannon, a former college soccer player, brings an athlete's mentality to the stands. She stays calm, handles things as they come, and never gets too high or too low.
With both women locked into their rituals and the team riding high, Knicks Nation is ready. These superstitions are about to matter.
