Siddharth Gupta is getting real about the role that changed his life. The actor shared an emotional note on social media following the audience reception to his portrayal of Lord Krishna in Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart, calling it transformative.
In a candid post, Gupta wrote: "The person who was offered this role two years ago is not the same person writing this today."
To prepare for the role, Gupta avoided watching previous on-screen interpretations of Krishna. Instead, he spent months studying the Shrimad Bhagwat Puran and the Bhagavad Gita.
"I immersed myself in the Shrimad Bhagwat Puran, the Bhagavad Gita, spiritual texts, teachings, and discourses," Gupta revealed. "I kept asking myself who Krishna truly was beyond what we see and hear. I tried to understand his stillness, his wisdom, his compassion, his detachment, his strength."
Gupta expressed gratitude to audiences: "The love I've been receiving for #Krishnavataram is something I'm still trying to process. Every message, every reaction, every blessing, every kind word has touched me in ways I cannot fully express."
He describes the role as "a deeply personal journey" that "changed me from within." The actor grappled seriously with the responsibility of embodying a figure so sacred to millions.
The response highlights Gupta's honesty about the spiritual weight of the role. His research, the spiritual commitment, and the vulnerability stand out in an industry often criticized for surface-level performances.
