Simran Rawal is making waves with her television debut by rewriting how the 'third person' in a love triangle is portrayed.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, the actress discussed her role as Swati in Zee TV's Tu Hi Re Dil Mein, alongside Priyanshi Yadav and Abrar Qazi. Her character breaks the mold.

"It took me some time to process it," Rawal said about landing the lead role. "Being a part of Tu Hi Re Dil Mein feels like a dream come true. When I was selected, I couldn't believe I had actually landed such a beautiful opportunity."

Swati is not a typical scheming third wheel. She is a kind-hearted, compassionate doctor who stands up for what's right and calls out injustice.

"What I love most about her is that she breaks the usual stereotype associated with the third person in a love story," Rawal explained. "People often expect such characters to bring negativity, but Swati is a very positive and genuine person."

Rawal said playing Swati has taught her lessons beyond the screen. "As Simran, I have learned a lot from Swati. She has taught me the importance of staying calm, composed, and patient, especially during challenging situations," she shared.

In real life, Rawal is nothing like Swati. "In reality, I am quite different from her, and that's exactly what made this role so exciting and rewarding. Exploring a personality so different from my own has been a wonderful learning experience," she said.

The character also has layers beyond the love triangle. Viewers will explore Swati's complex relationship with her mother as the show continues, potentially redefining how audiences view the "other woman" trope.
