Spotify just rolled out Reserved by Spotify, a new ticket system that identifies an artist's most devoted fans and reserves two prime concert tickets for them before the general public gets access.

The move targets scalpers and bot-driven resellers. By rewarding genuine engagement—streams, shares, app activity—Spotify gives loyal listeners a direct path to tickets.

Role Model is the first artist to test the system. Fans receive notifications starting June 23 about secured tour tickets across 17 U.S. cities. Spotify charges no transaction fees.

Here's how it works: eligible Premium subscribers (ages 18+) see a personalized offer on their Spotify Home screen showing tour dates and the Reserved window. When it opens—usually about a day before general sale—they get priority access to two tickets. Spotify tracks normal usage patterns, location data, and genuine engagement to prevent gaming. You can't simply put an artist on repeat and expect tickets to appear.

For now, the feature is U.S.-only and limited to Live Nation venues selling through Ticketmaster. Spotify has indicated plans to expand to smaller venues and international markets.

The feature is designed to boost Premium subscriptions and app engagement as fans tire of being priced out of live events. By tying exclusive concert access to streaming loyalty, Spotify creates a new reason to stay subscribed.
