Thom Yorke showed up unannounced at Flea's concert at London's Koko last night. The Radiohead legend delivered a two-track performance with his old Atoms of Peace collaborator.
The pair performed their recent collaboration "Traffic Lights," which appears on Flea's latest album Honora, and then covered Marvin Gaye's 1977 classic "Got to Give It Up."
Flea is currently on the European leg of his solo tour. When he first released "Traffic Lights," he described the collaboration in a statement: "Something about it reminded me of Atoms for Peace, so I sent it to Thom." He called Yorke "the warmest, free flowing, jamming motherf*cker."
The track was co-written with Yorke and producer Josh Johnson. Its lyrics address navigating an "upside down" world drowning in misinformation.
Thom and Flea have performed together multiple times over the years, initially as part of the Atoms of Peace collective, which also included drummer Nigel Godrich and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
