President Donald Trump announced that America 250's July 4th celebration will be headlined by a Trump rally. The president made the declaration Monday on Truth Social, promising the "most spectacular TRUMP RALLY of them all" at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument in Washington D.C.
Trump's announcement comes after his $60 million UFC birthday party at the White House. The exclusive bash included billionaires, right-wing influencers, and MAGA government officials.
The July 4th event will feature "more than 300 Members of our strong and talented Military Bands, Orchestras, and Ceremonial Units" performing "Patriotic Melodies and American Classics," along with Trump's personal playlist. "We will have none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!" he wrote.
The announcement has prompted a wave of musician cancellations. Performers signed for the "Great American State Fair" (June 25–July 10) have withdrawn, citing discomfort with what they describe as the "increasingly Trumpian and hyper-political bend" of the festivities. Bret Michaels, Martina McBride, Young MC, The Commodores, and Morris Day have all withdrawn.
Trump promised "keynote remarks that you will not want to miss." The event transforms a bicentennial milestone into a campaign rally.
