Wagner Moura is in final negotiations to join Warner Bros.' Ocean's prequel. According to Deadline, the Brazilian actor will star opposite Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper in the heist film.
The film is scheduled for a June 25, 2027 theatrical release. Moura's involvement follows his Best Actor win at Cannes in 2025 for The Secret Agent, a victory that also led to a Golden Globe.
The Ocean's franchise has built its reputation on ensemble casts and established stars. Pairing Moura with Robbie and Cooper aligns with that strategy. A prequel allows for new storylines while retaining the franchise's formula.
Moura joins other talent being pursued for the project. The deal remains unsigned, but an official announcement could come once negotiations conclude.
