Paramount Skydance announced Monday that it is elevating industrial relations to a standalone division, with Nicole Lang and Sheldon Kasdan taking the helm as executive vice presidents and co-heads.

Lang, who previously served as Paramount's head of worldwide industrial relations, now shares the role with Kasdan. Both report directly to Makan Delrahim, the company's Chief Legal Officer.

Studio-union dynamics have grown more contentious in recent years. By creating a standalone division rather than housing the function within a larger department, Paramount Skydance has made industrial relations a priority at the executive level.

For Lang and Kasdan, the elevation places them in positions to shape how Paramount handles writer and actor negotiations, on-set disputes, and union compliance.

The restructuring follows recent labor negotiations that have reshaped the entertainment industry. Paramount's decision to install two dedicated executives in this role reflects the heightened stakes of labor relations in studios.
