Two years after Abhay Verma became a household name, the actor is reflecting on the moment Munjya hit screens on June 7, 2024. The horror-comedy broke box office records and reached the Rs 100-crore club, establishing Verma as a major breakout talent.
In a social media post, Verma wrote: "2 years to Munjya!! Today changed everything; forever!" He added, channeling his character Bittu: "Aaj bhi jab aap Bittu bulaate hain to din ban jaata hai… aur is pyaar ke liye kuch bhi… You all gave me a life I could only dream of having!"
Since Munjya's release, Verma has wrapped a series of high-profile projects that mark a shift in his career trajectory.
These include Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller King, directed by Siddharth Anand. He is also headlining the romantic musical Laikey Laikaa with Rasha Thadani, and the A.R. Rahman-backed musical Dilkashi from director Lijo Jose Pellissery. Project JC pairs him with Shanaya Kapoor, and the web series Operation Safed Sagar casts him as an Air Force officer.
From his role in Munjya to collaborating with Bollywood's established names, Verma's career has expanded considerably in two years.
