Candr Pictures has optioned Adrian J. Walker's novel The End of The World Running Club for a feature film adaptation. Chris Reading, the director behind the cult comedy sci-fi flick Time Travel Is Dangerous, will write and direct the post-apocalyptic adventure. Walker is an Executive Producer on the project.
The novel follows characters navigating a world turned upside down. Given Reading's sci-fi comedy background, the adaptation could lean toward dark humor rather than straight dystopian drama.
With Walker overseeing the creative vision as a producer, the project combines Reading's genre expertise with Walker's involvement in the source material. No casting announcements or production timeline have been announced.
