Anthropic has partnered with Indian IT services giant Tata Consultancy Services to expand adoption of its Claude AI assistant across enterprise customers. TCS is creating an entire business unit dedicated to deploying Anthropic's models.
TCS will get early access to Anthropic's latest model releases and plans to roll out Claude across its workforce of over 50,000 employees. The company is also integrating the AI assistant into internal operations.
Diligenta, TCS's UK-based life and pensions business serving 22 million customers, will deploy Claude for customer service and process automation. TCS iON, the company's digital learning platform, will launch training and certification programs on Anthropic's models to build enterprise expertise.
Both firms are targeting financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, and aviation sectors.
The partnership reflects Anthropic's India expansion strategy. The startup has opened an office there, hired senior leadership, and identified India as its second-largest market. OpenAI has already partnered with Infosys and HCLTech this year, and Anthropic itself partnered with Infosys separately.
Stock prices for TCS and Infosys have fallen roughly 34% and 31% this year as investors worry about AI disrupting the $315-billion IT services business. The partnership is TCS's response to these pressures.
