The BBC has assembled a cast for Wahala. According to Deadline, Cush Jumbo, Adelayo Adedayo, Deborah Ayorinde, and Susan Wokoma are leading the adaptation of Nikki May's novel.
Wahala is directed by Theresa Ikoko, who made the critically acclaimed film Rocks. The show follows four Nigerian-British women in their thirties navigating careers, romance, and family drama in present-day London.
Jumbo recently starred in Criminal Record. Adedayo appeared in The Responder and Netflix's Supacell. Susan Wokoma and Deborah Ayorinde complete the cast.
Nikki May's novel has built a following. BBC Studios and production company Firebird Pictures are adapting it with this cast.
The show explores friendship, ambition, and authenticity among the four characters in modern London.
