According to Deadline Hollywood, a new Tribeca documentary is chronicling Hayley Erbert's return to the stage following emergency brain surgery.
In December 2023, Erbert underwent emergency craniectomy surgery to treat a life-threatening brain bleed. Doctors were uncertain whether she would dance again. Four months later, she performed alongside her husband Derek Hough.
The documentary, titled The Symphony Of Dance, captures Erbert's recovery and rehabilitation. The filmmakers explore how dance became a form of healing for Erbert during this period of her life.
"Honestly, it just strengthened my relationship," Erbert reportedly reveals in the project, discussing how the crisis affected her bond with Hough.
The pair have been open about supporting each other through difficult times. Erbert's return to performing after medical complications, with Hough's support, has drawn attention in the dance community.
