According to Deadline, showrunner and writer Jörg Winger — the creative force behind Deutschland 83 — has joined Dynamic Television as President of its new German arm.
Winger will head the entire German division, overseeing development of German and international scripted content. The creator of the Cold War espionage series now holds substantial creative and commercial authority.
His new thriller series Conspiracy — co-created with Marco Girnth — is already in active development at ZDF, Germany's major public broadcaster. The project moves forward while Winger assumes his new role at Dynamic Television.
Winger built his reputation on Deutschland 83, which demonstrated that German television could compete internationally. Dynamic Television's decision to appoint him to lead their German expansion reflects confidence in his ability to develop additional high-profile projects.
