Kunal Kemmu is ready to take audiences back to Goa—but not just yet.

The actor-filmmaker has confirmed that the script for Madgaon Express 2 is complete, and a sequel is happening. But there's a catch: all his energy is locked into Vibe, the action-comedy co-starring Preity Zinta, which drops September 18. After that, production can begin.

"I've finished writing Madgaon Express 2," Kunal revealed. The idea for the follow-up had been forming while he was writing the original 2024 hit. "When I wrote the first film, there were some loose ends. There was an idea of where it's going to go," he said.

Kunal kept the sequel script under wraps from everyone at Excel Entertainment until it was completely done. Even the cast didn't know. "Only when I finished it, I told them that I've written it," he explained. Divyenndu, who starred in the first film alongside Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary, is apparently in the loop—which is how the news leaked out.

The actor-director wasn't about to make a sequel just because the original earned critical acclaim and audience approval. "I don't want to do a sequel with any and every story just because the first one has worked," he insisted.

While waiting for production to begin, Kunal is also hosting the upcoming show Alliance, which features celeb duos navigating games built on trust and betrayal.

Madgaon Express 2 fans will have to wait—but the delay suggests the sequel will be worth it.
