Satendra Soni is calling out what he claims is a toxic payment practice in Bollywood.
The Laapataa Ladies actor has alleged that a filmmaker not only refused to pay him for his work but threatened his life when he demanded his dues. According to the report, Soni claims the filmmaker removed multiple actors from projects after they asked for payment.
Soni has appeared in Doctor G, Bawaal, and Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders. He has worked across film and television. The allegations suggest he is not alone—multiple actors were removed from projects, indicating a pattern rather than an isolated incident.
The allegations touch on payment disputes and contractual issues already present in the industry. While A-list stars have formal agreements, actors further down often operate in grey zones where filmmakers can avoid obligations.
Soni's decision to make death threat allegations public suggests he is no longer staying silent on the matter.
