Peacock just announced it's launching two unscripted Bravo microdramas, betting on the vertical-video format that has quietly generated billions in revenue.
Madison LeCroy is stepping into the salon chair (and the producer's seat) with Salon Confessionals with Madison LeCroy, where the Southern Charm star will give makeovers while her clients spill their most dramatic stories in 60 to 90-second episodes.
Campus Confidential: Miami follows a group of college students including Georgia Gay—daughter of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Heather Gay—as they navigate life on campus. The show is unscripted.
Microdrama apps like ReelShort (which generated $1.2 billion in consumer spending last year) and DramaBox ($276 million in 2025) have become a significant market. TikTok launched its own standalone microdrama app, PineDrama, earlier this year. GammaTime, another microdrama platform, raised $14 million from investors including Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
Most existing microdramas follow predictable formulas—a poor girl gets bullied, a billionaire werewolf notices she's pretty, instant obsession. Yet audiences pay $20 a week for cliffhangers.
Bravo's strategy targets existing Peacock subscribers already watching "Vanderpump Rules" and other shows. A 90-second video of Madison LeCroy gossiping mid-blowout fits naturally into that ecosystem.
This is the first time a major U.S. streaming platform has produced microdramas. Whether it succeeds or amounts to a cash grab remains unclear—but with billions at stake, Peacock is making the bet.
