Maggie Gyllenhaal is serving as jury president for the Venice Film Festival's Competition section. The Venice Film Festival has announced the full International Jury roster for Venezia 83.

Tunisian director-screenwriter Kaouther Ben Hania, Hong Kong auteur Johnnie To, and Afghan filmmaker Shahrbanoo Sadat are among the judges who will decide which films win the Golden Lion and Silver Lion awards.

The panel also includes English composer and artist Daniel Blumberg, Italian professor and film theorist Francesco Casetti, and French director-screenwriter Xavier Giannoli.

Gyllenhaal has competed at festivals worldwide. Her presidency reflects Venice's commitment to championing diverse voices and ambitious storytelling internationally.

The jury will evaluate the competition slate under one of Europe's most prestigious spotlights.
